As a minor sub-project to this, County sporting histories should be added to the County articles, see County Limerick. Seabhcán 14:08, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)
What about perhaps expanding the coverage of gaelic clubs around Ireland? Perhaps even contacting someone at the club to develop an article, inclusive of local history? For example, I've noticed that they is no article on St. Vincent's GAA club in Marino despite it having played a major social and cultural role on Dublin's northside. Just and idea (and perhaps a silly one). Lochdale 05:53, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Irish Featured Articles edit

Since the creation of the Wikipedia and particularly since the inception of the Irish wikipedians notice board, many Irish articles have become featured articles - these should be seen as examples of what to aim for when you edit wikipedia. Some previously featured articles have been demoted and could be reinstated with some work. These include: (update as necessary)

Does anyone know if this edit is correct [1]. Google and some reference books seem split on the subject. If there is a "T" in his name then the page need to be moved. Thanks Giano | talk 06:23, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  1. How does this article relate to the Featured Article drive?
  2. If the sources are divided, then probably the best way is to create a redirect page from the alternate spelling, and mention both spellings in the first couple of sentences of the article.

The Letterkenny article needs more information added to it. It may seem as if it has enough but I have visited Letterkenny and it is a large town.(Larger than Sligo, Athlone,Tralee). This does not mean larger by population.--Candelwicke 19:08, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

its nowhere near as big as any of the towns you mention - and is even less significant due to the fact that it is overshadowed by its proximity to Derry Vintagekits 00:30, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting services of native Irish speakers edit

Hello! I am wondering if any of Irish native speakers would be willing to create audio files for Irish language-related articles, such as Irish phonology, Ulster Irish, Connacht Irish, Munster Irish, and possibly for Irish orthography, Irish morphology, Irish syntax, and Irish initial mutations as well. Angr did a fantastic job putting those pages together, but since he is not a native speaker, he couldn't supply the audio files. I, as a learner of Irish, and indeed any other person arriving to those pages in search of reference materials, would find such audio files to be invaluable in studies. You all probably know that decent educational materials about Irish are very scarce and hard to find outside of Ireland, so having a well-developed set of articles on Irish in Wikipedia is a great asset, and adding sound files would make them more valuable still.

Any kind of assistance you might be able to provide will be greatly appreciated!--Ag Foghlaim 16:07, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
